CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care from the Community Services Training Package CHC.

For those looking for a fulfilling and rewarding career, working with children offers just that.

This qualification is regarded as the entry level education required for employment in a variety of settings such as preschools, family day care, long day care or even a child minding service in a recreation centre or gym.

 Online Study:

This option allows you to study online in your own time at your own pace. 

You will be required to complete all  theory components including your assessments for this course online with full support from the trainer.

All delivery methods are fully supported by your trainer as well as the College throughout the course.

You will have up to 12 months to complete your studies if required, this includes the mandatory minimum 150-hours of work placement.  This is arranged for you and supported by your facilitator.

Nationally Recognised Training Disability Skillset

An appropriate level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills are required to enrol in this course. Tomaree Community College may conduct an LLN assessment as part of the pre enrolment process.

USI unique Student Identifier number

The USI will be available online and at no cost to you. The USI will stay with you for life and be recorded with any nationally recognised VET course that is undertaken from 1st January 2015.

Why do I need a USI?

You may need to provide evidence of your academic achievements, for example when applying for a job or to undertake further study.

Everyone undertaking nationally recognised VET courses will need to have a USI to receive their statement of attainment or qualification.

Your USI must be provided to Tomaree Community College before you can receive a statement of attainment or qualification. Tomaree Community College will not be allowed to issue your certificate unless we have your USI recorded.

In this course, you will learn about:

  • first aid in a education and care setting
  • how to do documentation and observations
  • how to create healthy food and drink for children
  • how to support children’s learning and play
  • creating and maintaining healthy relationships with children and families

At the end of the course, you will be able to confidently care for children aged 0-6 years focusing on the child’s overall health, education and development. You will be able to provide support to children and their families as needed.

This will be discussed with your trainer and course coordinator at the commencement of your course. 

Please be advised that there is a minimum of 160hrs of work placement in a childcare  service.

The work placement is arranged by the course coordinator.

Under the new ‘Smart and Skilled’ changes, the NSW Government is targeting funding towards the skills that are needed for jobs and economic growth.

As part of these changes, the NSW Government has released the  2023 Skills List, which sets out priority areas for training. The qualifications on this list will receive government subsidies to make sure training priorities match the needs of the economy. This list includes qualifications that will attract a government subsidy in 2023 plus their prices and fees.

Successful completion of CHC30121 will allow further study pathways into higher level qualifications such as CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
