The course is delivered both in the classroom (9am - 2:30pm) at the Tomaree Community College, as well as training days at Harbourside Haven training facility (6:30am - 2:30pm).  The course will run for a period of approximately 16 weeks, 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and includes the mandatory 120 hour work placement component of the course, which is arranged for you and supported by your facilitator. These workers:   Carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in an aged care setting  Carry out activities related to an individualised plan  Report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.  Occupational titles may include:   Accommodation support worker  Assistant in nursing  Care assistant  Care service employees  Care worker  Community care worker  Community house worker  Community support worker  Disability service officer (in some jurisdictions)  Field officer  Home care assistant  In-home respite worker  Nursing assistant  Personal care assistant  Personal care giver  Personal care worker  Support worker  Training is delivered through face to face, in the training room, as well as&#xA0;through&#xA0;work experience, giving&#xA0;students a great foundation in the skills and knowledge which are required to work within this field.  Prospective students need to be aware that a clinical placement in a public or private&#xA0; facility is part of this course, and you will be required to undergo occupational screening.&#xA0; Your teachers will give you further advice. Pre-requisite for Certificate III in Individual Support :  Current First Aid Certificate:   If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).  If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
