Description
This single accredited unit HLTINFCOV001 – Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures provides the skills and knowledge required to follow organisational infection prevention and control procedures. This is a high level health care unit which will allow skills to be used for any industry or workplace.
It includes information on how to:
– follow standard and additional precautions for infection prevention and control;
– identify infection hazards and assess risks, and
– follow procedures for managing risks associated with specific hazards.
Delivery Method: Online, with students being require to submit a video recording for assessment.
Skills must be demonstrated in the workplace with the addition of simulations and scenarios where the full range of contexts and situations have not been provided in the workplace or may occur only rarely.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.
